The Coastal Route
Heading north along the coast
To get the best of Northern Norway we suggest a route as fare as west you can go along the coastline. Driving in narrow roads, take small ferry crossings and pass small villages towards Harstad.
The coastal route follows the entire Helgeland coast and is divided into several sections. This route is part of EuroVelo 1, the Atlantic Coast Route, which runs from the North Cape to Bergen and follows the Atlantic coast to Spain and Portugal.
The stretch from Bergen over Lindesnes and along the Oslofjord to Svinesund is part of EuroVelo 12, the North Sea Cycle Route, which goes around the entire North Sea basin. The coastal route passes several national tourist routes.
