Northern Norway was made for individual exploration by car. There is something new around every corner; scenic beauty and picturesque villages. There are many Scenic Routes to be found, and we can also strongly recommend quite a few others. Here are some suggestions

The northern Routes
Heading north
To get the best of Northern Norway we suggest a route combining the mountains and the coastline of rural northern Norway. Driving in narrow roads, take small ferry crossings and pass small villages towards Harstad.
The coastal route follows the entire Helgeland coast and is divided into several sections. This route is part of EuroVelo 1, the Atlantic Coast Route, which runs from the North Cape to Bergen and follows the Atlantic coast to Spain and Portugal.
