Damage Minicamper Vans Accidents might happen with our box mini rental camper vans.
From small scratches and dents to larger impact in the body of the campervan.
This must be reported to Elcampervan when it happend by e-mail, phone or WhatsApp with pictures. This in terms with our rental agreement.
It is very important that you as a customer are taking pictures/video of the van at pickup before you start your journey.
This is vital if there is occurring a situation with scratches or minor damage in the body of the box van when being inspected by Elcampervan staff after return of the campercar.
Unfortunate, we do, but very seldom, having a dispute when a damage occur. Your documentation is vital to sort out issues when this happend.
The guideline to our customers in terms with our rental agreement are:
Pickup, take pictures of all sides of the van left- and right side, front and rear of the van.
Drop off, repeat take pictures of all sides of the van left- and right side, front and rear of the van.
The campervan is often covered by dirt when returned. Stain, streaks and damage to paintwork is sometimes first discovered by Elcampervan staff a day or two later when they wash and clean the van.
Report is sent to administration. Information to you as a customer will be sent as soon as possible.
Our standard insurance self-risk fee will cover the incident. Insurance terms is stated in rental agreement.
When a damage occur it will be available documentation primarily pictures/video and inspection pick up and drop off before or after maintaining van that will be basis for compensation in terms with insurance CDW or SCDW.
Season 2025 insurance
CDW insurance included in rental. Maximum self-risk fee Euro1200. To be paid up front before pickup partial self-risk deposit Euro600.
CDW if damage occurs your liability is up to maximum Euro1200.
SCDW extra insurance Euro10/day. Maximum self-risk fee Euro800. To be paid up front before pickup self-risk deposit Euro600.
We recommend you to choose the low cost extra SCDW insurance. Small scratches and dents are expensive to fix.
A kindly message to our rental customers
We do not want to get into discussions with you. Please remember to take pictures/video pick up and drop off.
If anything is happening or something discovered using the van during your holiday inform us as soon as possible.
These good routines will be for the better for all.
Most common damages
Scratches and dents all “corners” of the van. Misjudging distances to obstacles when you are manuevering in narrow places.
Side of van front wheels, especially passenger side. Happends when you are doing a turn and misjudging distance to a protruding obstacle.
Strong winds are often causing wind damages to the vans. When you are opening the door in windy conditions hold on to door, so it does not get slammed by the wind.
Drive off the roadside on grass or gravel where protruding objects damage the camper.
Preventive measures: Let the passenger get out of the van and guide from the outside
