The Coastal Route
Heading north along the coast
To get the best of Western Norway we suggest a route as far west as you can go along the coastline. Driving through country roads, take small ferry crossings and pass small, pretty villages towards Ã…lesund.
The coastal route follows the entire Norwegian coast and is divided into several sections. This route is part of EuroVelo 1, the Atlantic Coast Route, which runs from the North Cape to Bergen and follows the Atlantic coast to Spain and Portugal.
The stretch from Bergen over Lindesnes and along the Oslo-fjord to Svinesund is part of EuroVelo 12, the North Sea Cycle Route, which goes around the entire North Sea basin. The coastal route passes several national tourist routes.
THE ROAD AWAITS YOU
Norway´s west coastal route has everything. Mountains with breathtaking views, fjords of world record lengths and an innumerable amount of islands, scattered along the coastline.Â
